On-device AI, your own transform chips, and a shortcut for every folder

On-device AI. On macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, the new AI chip (or ⌘I) opens a prompt bar under a note or a preview: “make it shorter”, “turn into a list”, “fix the grammar”. The answer replaces the selection in place, ⌘Z brings the original back, and nothing leaves your Mac.
Your own transform chips. Build a chip from a chain of steps — the built-in transforms, a regex replace, or a prompt for the on-device AI model. Open Preferences → Preview & Transforms and press “Create your own transformation”.
A shortcut for every folder. Give any folder — Notes, Favorites, your own — a global shortcut, and Klipto opens right on it (Preferences → Favorites & Folders).
Notes from a selection. Select text in any app and press ⌥⌘X: the new note opens already filled with it.
Chips work on the selection. In a note, select a part of the text and the transform chips, prefixes and “Replace again” change only that part.
Bigger text, bigger panels. The text-size step now widens the popup, preview, stack and notes too, so long lines stay readable.

Paste without formatting (⇧⌘V) is instant and reliable again — it no longer waits half a second or misses when the key is still held.
Plain paste from rich editors no longer keeps **bold** markers or ## headings in the text.
Markdown with a table is recognized as Markdown.
A copied file path is a text entry again — the full path in the row, text chips in the preview — and “In Finder” still reveals it.
The translation remembers the source language you picked instead of guessing it again on every item.
Row numbers paste with ⌘1…⌘9 by default; bare digits type into the search. The old behavior is a switch in Preferences.
Every shortcut here can be changed in Preferences.
Notes, full keyboard control, and a quick access bar
New
Notes. Press ⌥⌘X to start a new note, or ⌘E on anything in your history to turn it into one. It opens in a real editor — autosave, undo, find & replace, the transform chips, and a translation side by side. A note floats above what you are writing about and collapses into a small pill when you need the screen back.
Split to History. Break a copied block into separate entries, one per line — then paste them one by one with ⌃⌘V.
Just type to search. Let go of ⌘ and the popup starts typing: type to filter, arrows to move, a bare digit pastes that row. Keep ⌘ held and every chord works as before.
The preview without the mouse.Tab moves between the preview’s controls and Space presses the focused one — chips, translation, Copy, Paste, Split, Edit. Klipto now runs end to end from the keyboard.
Quick access bar. And if you would rather click: a floating cat that opens into history, favorites, notes and text capture. Drag it anywhere, right-click to hide it for an hour before a meeting, or switch it off for good in Preferences.
Out of screen shares. Klipto’s windows are hidden from screen recording and screen sharing, so your clipboard never ends up on the call. Turn it off on the Home tab when you need Klipto in a demo.
Every shortcut here can be changed in Preferences.
Double-tap ⌘ and hold pastes again. In 1.3.0, holding ⌘ after the double-tap while moving with the arrows, switching folders or simply waiting, then releasing, left the popup open and pasted nothing. Releasing now pastes the highlighted item and closes the popup, as before; a quick tap-tap-release still just opens the popup.
The changelog page on klipto.me is regenerated with every release.
Paste in order, a feature-first Hub, and a guided tour

Paste in order. Press ⌃⌘V anywhere: the freshest copy is pasted, each next press pastes the next item from History. The popup pins itself and strikes through what’s already pasted — hover a row to continue from there.
The Hub, rebuilt around features. One section per feature — Clipboard & Popup, Favorites & Folders, Preview, Stack, Text Capture, Capture & Translate — each with its shortcuts, its settings and a short “how to use”. Plus What’s New and a Free vs Pro table in License.
Keyboard Shortcuts window. Status menu → Keyboard Shortcuts: every global shortcut live from your settings, then the keys inside the popup, the preview and the Stack.
A new 9-step tour with clips for every gesture and a practice file that walks through opening Klipto, the preview and paste-in-order. Reopen it any time from What’s New or the status menu.
T cycles your transform chips, L translates — both rebindable in Settings → Preview. Arrange the chips in your own order there; the row, the T-cycle and the chevron menu all follow it.
Larger text. One switch scales the popup, the History table, the preview, chips and captions.
New chip: No spaces — strip every space from text and numbers (IBANs into web forms).

Free-tier texts, challenges and hints now match reality: 100 items in the popup, ⇧Enter / ⇧-click / ⇧⌘V for plain paste.
Klipto Challenges show a fixed list of eight; completed ones stay visible, struck through.
Empty Stack states teach with the tour clips — list view shows the paste-out flow, grid view the research/collect use case.
Anti-LLM keeps colons and blank lines; the Stack and double-tap pickers update instantly; ⌃⌘C works only while the Stack is open in ⌃⌘C mode and never steals the shortcut from other apps.
Fresh installs start with the final defaults; the Stack reopens on the screen you left it.

Clicking an item in a pinned popup no longer jumps the selection to the top.
Double-tap ⌘ followed by a quick ⇧ or letter no longer pastes and closes unexpectedly.
A copy made right after a paste is no longer swallowed.
Images are kept safe when the disk is full; long-text copies no longer stall on CSS detection.
The Stack’s empty-state clip plays on first show; the translation banner no longer flashes after idle.
Offline translation, the new Hub, and a bigger free tier

Translate anything, fully offline. Press T on any preview — Klipto translates text, links in code, even the text inside a screenshot (via OCR), using Apple’s on-device translation. Pick source and target from the flag capsules; your transforms stack right on top of the translation. Requires macOS 15+.
Capture & Translate.⇧⌘1 grabs any area of the screen and opens it already translated.
The Hub. Settings and History merged into one clean window: a home page with your usage stats and a full keyboard-shortcut cheatsheet rendered as key caps, a full-history table with filters, curated General settings, and everything geeky tucked into Advanced.
Send feedback from the app. A new Feedback section (and a status-menu item) delivers your message straight to us — app version and macOS attached automatically.
A much bigger free plan. Everything free Maccy offers, Klipto now offers free too: 100 recent items in the popup (up from 25), search quick filters, and your five most recent Favorites stay fully usable. Everything you saved during the trial remains visible — nothing is ever deleted.

Notification taps and History rows open the preview right where you are — beside the cursor, misclick closes it.
The Stack’s After control matches the preview dropdowns, and it defaults to None — nothing is typed after a paste unless you ask.
Search matches are always bold; the status-bar icon can no longer be hidden or dragged off by accident.

Preview actions (♥, Copy, rename, delete) always target the item you’re looking at — even for old items outside the popup buffer.
Copying while the History window is open no longer drops the table selection.
Image rows in the History table no longer decode full-size bitmaps while scrolling.
The stack no longer re-opens as a grid you never chose.
Custom After text in the Stack. The After menu now ends with a text field — type anything ( OR , — , an emoji…) and Klipto types it after every paste, spaces included. Pick a preset to go back; clear the field to switch it off. ⌥⌘A cycles through your custom text too.

Splitting an item from the preview now closes the popup behind it (a pinned popup stays) — it used to linger and ignore clicks away.
The custom split separator and custom prefixes/suffixes keep their spaces — splitting by OR works.
Re-opening a menu field and typing a new value no longer re-submits the old one.
Sensible length limits in the rename and new-folder fields.
Double-tap ⌘, themes, and a preview panel that does more

Double-tap ⌘ opens your history. Tap twice and release — the popup stays open until you paste. Tap twice and keep holding — V steps through items, release pastes. Pick a different trigger (⌥⌃⇧) or switch it off in Settings → Shortcuts.
Light, Dark or System theme, plus a Compact mode: tighter padding, 8pt corners and smaller windows — three separate switches in Settings → Appearance.
Markdown pastes as prose.⇧Enter (or ⇧-click) on a Markdown item strips the syntax and keeps the structure — lists, quotes and code blocks survive, # and ** don't.

One Transform menu in the preview. Every case, cleanup and encode action lives in a single dropdown; ⌥-click a row to pin it as a button in the chips row. Split moved to its own button, with a field for a custom separator.
Rename, new folder, custom prefix and suffix are typed right in the menu — no more dialog window stealing your keystrokes.
The Stack is plain text by design. Whatever you collect pastes clean, in every app — no more formatting sneaking in from Notion or Google Docs.
A more generous free tier: the popup keeps your last 25 copies, and search and the preview panel are free too.

The app could freeze while using the preview menus. Fixed at the root — menus no longer fight the panel's layout.
Menus no longer close the popup behind them, and ⌥-clicking a transform pins it instead of pasting and closing everything.
Typing in the rename or prefix field no longer leaks into the search box.
A pinned popup keeps its selection when you click away and back.
Clicking a Klipto notification no longer launches a second copy of the app.
Pinned popup pastes into the app you're in now. Copy in one app, pin the popup (⌥⌘P), switch to another — clicking an item used to bounce you back to the first app and paste there. Now the paste lands where your cursor is.
The menu-bar icon can't get lost anymore. An accidental ⌘-drag used to remove it permanently. If it's gone, just launch Klipto from Applications — the icon comes back and Settings opens.
Improved
Quicker way into Settings. With the popup open, press , with any modifier — ⌘,⌥⌘,⌥, all work, even while you're still holding the popup keys.

Text Capture (⇧⌘2). Press the shortcut, select any area of the screen with the familiar crosshair — and the recognized text lands on your clipboard, ready to paste. A notification shows what was captured; the text is saved to history too. Works with English and Russian, in any app, even where text can't be selected: images, videos, PDFs, calls. Also in the menu-bar icon menu; asks for the Screen Recording permission on first use.
The Stack hotkey cycles.⌥⌘S now steps through: open → mini widget → closed.
Two new Stack keys (active while it's open): ⌥⌘E flips the capture/paste key mode (⌘C ⇄ ⌃⌘C), ⌥⌘A cycles the After-paste action. Both are configurable in Settings → Shortcuts.

Separate notification toggles in Settings → General: copy notifications and OCR notifications are now independent.
The After-paste menu is reordered by real-world use: None, ⇧Enter, Tab, Enter, ↓, →, Esc, space, comma, semicolon.
Text recognition became more resilient: a stalled recognition can no longer slow down or hang the app.
Rich text → Markdown in one click. Formatted text (Google Docs, web pages…) gets an MD chip in the preview: real headings, bold, lists, links and code — converted from the original HTML, not guessed. Stack other transforms on top; paste inserts clean Markdown.
Klipto now recognises Markdown. Copy from Notion (which puts real Markdown on the clipboard) or any .md text — it's detected as its own Markdown type: the list and the preview finally show the same thing, and all text transforms work on it.

The update window no longer hides behind Settings. While Settings or History are open, Klipto shows a Dock icon and behaves like a regular app — reachable via the Dock and ⌘Tab, with normal window ordering. Settings no longer float on top of everything.
Clicking the Dock icon no longer teleports the Settings window to the centre of the screen.
The first preview of formatted text no longer freezes the app for a second — and repeat previews are instant.
New transformations, a calmer preview, and a faster clipboard

The preview no longer opens on its own. Hovering a row just selects it — press Shift or right-click when you actually want the panel. Prefer the old behaviour? Set a delay in Settings → Appearance.
The preview panel now has a close button in its top-right corner.
New transformations: wrap in quotes, add a prefix or suffix to every line, and encode to URL, Base64 or HTML entities.
Encoded text is now recognised — paste a JWT, a Base64 blob or a percent-encoded URL and Klipto offers to decode it.
Anti-LLM now also strips markdown while keeping your text and links intact, and can relax the tone.
Klipto now speaks German, French and Spanish in addition to English and Russian.
Fixed
In ⌘C mode, a plain ⌘V now reliably unloads the Stack item by item.
The popup no longer snaps to a new height right after it appears.
The preview panel no longer loses its background and appears to float.
Transformation menu items apply once instead of toggling a checkmark, and resetting now also clears custom prefixes and suffixes.
Tooltips no longer clip their last line.
Fewer wrong guesses about content type — a bare hex string is no longer a colour, and README.md is no longer a link.
The onboarding tour is shorter, and the Stack step now has Copy buttons for each line.
Faster
Copying stays instant on a large history — retention and licence checks left the hot path.
Opening the popup no longer touches the Keychain, and image thumbnails decode off the main thread.
