Write and keep notes

A note is a floating window that saves itself. It is the place for the paragraph you are drafting, the list you are collecting, the thing you do not want in a document yet.

1. Press ⌥⌘X. If text is selected in the app in front, the note opens with that text already in it.
2. Type. The note is saved as you go, with no button to press.
3. Close it with ✕ or ⌘X when you are done.

Notes stay on top of other windows, so you can write while reading something else. The 📌 in the header turns that off for a note that should behave like a normal window.

What a note can do

• The same transform chips as the preview, applied to the whole note or to the selection.
• ⌘L opens a translation beside the text.
• ⌘F finds and replaces.
• ⌘I opens Ask AI, which rewrites the text in place with one undo step.
• The ⌄ menu moves the note to another folder, splits it into separate items, or deletes it with ⌥⌘⌫.

Clicking a note in the popup opens the editor instead of pasting. To paste one, press ⇧⏎ or ⇧-click.
