On-device translation in the preview and in notes, including language packs.
Translation runs on the Mac, offline, using Apple's own language packs. It is available on macOS 15 and later.
Open the preview of a text item and press ⌘L. The panel shows the translation in place of the original. The two flags in the header choose the source and the target; Auto lets Klipto detect the language.
The translation becomes the base of the chain, so chips apply on top of it and ⏎ pastes the translated text.
⌘L splits the note: your text on the left, the translation on the right, updating as you type. The ⇄ button swaps them, making the translation the text of the note in one undo step.
Give the Copy and translate shortcut a combination in Preferences, and a selection anywhere on screen comes back translated in a panel of its own.
The first use of a pair asks macOS to download it. Klipto shows a small notice with a Download button and names the pair that is missing. Availability is per pair, not per language, so German → French can be missing while German → English works.
Twenty languages are available offline. Text above fifty thousand characters is not translated.
