Type to search the popup, and open the full history window for everything else.
The popup searches as you type. With nothing held down, any printable key goes straight into the search field; while you hold a modifier, press ⌘F first.
Search looks at the text of everything in the popup buffer, and at snippet bodies as well as their names.
The row of icons above the list filters by what the item is: text, link, image, colour, code, file. Klipto works the type out on its own when you copy, across twenty-two of them.
The popup holds the most recent items, the database holds the rest. When a search comes up short, the footer offers Search all history, which opens the history window: the full database, with filters by type, by app and by date.
